My excitement in witnessing hoarfrost throughout the landscape this winter was one path that led me towards this series of paintings. Another path of convergence was the connections and memories of our elders , and some of them being in their 80's an 90's. I deeply respect and enjoy the company of older friends and family. Their wisdom, calmness, strength and compassion have effected my daily connections to just plain existing. I am also inspired by their white, grey and silver hair as a symbol of this age, knowledge and existence of time passing - yet fulfilled and still inquisitive.
